Crutches...

While out Treasure hunting today at resale shops. I found 15 pairs of aluminum crutches for sale at prices ranging from $3.00 to $8.00.

I thinking this would be great material to use as supports (replace 2x2 wood) on my boat build that I plan on doing over the upcoming months.

Just was wondering if any one thinks this would be a bad Ideal or a good Ideal.

Thanks for any replies.

The deal depends on what you think of the prices. They are usually rated for 300lbs in the adult size and 120lbs in the kids size. The tubes can take weight straight down but put a side load on them and they will bend and buckle fairly easily.Ask me how I know.

Concur on that. The mat'l used for crutches is thin-walled.
