new to the forum 12 ft jon boat need few mods done help guys

2006 12ft john boat
2008 8hp mercury longshaft 4-stroke new
no triler but trying to buy one.
so what im trying to do is i want to make my jon boat stabble on th water so it dosent wabble to much , if there is 2 of us i want to make sure if one of us is seting a hook so one of us dont lend in the water ... and i also need to make my front of the boat hawier cause 8hp is alot for my boat .. i will also post some pics here soon of the boat so evey body knows what we are working with.. any ideas guys ..

Pictures will allow the members to really give you good opinions. If it is "wobbly" now with 2 guys, anything you do to it will not help unless you build some sort of flotation pods (see boat on the home page https://www.TinBoats.net ).

How old is your boat and does it have a capacity plate?

If you intend to use a trolling motor,depthfinder, or something electric you could put the battery (s) up front to help with the weight. Is your boat a flat bottom or V-hull?

yes its a flat bottom boat .
and id like to make something like that one guy on the hompage site.. looks great . but i was thinking domething like a airplane carrier has on sides and just refiberglaasss it over and mold it very nice i think that could do the trick .. here some pics

i just picked up a fishfinder this morning and a mini kota all of also brand new

something like this just make it out of styrofoam tubes and refibracate it with fiberglass over .. will i run into problems later yes or no and what ideas do u have .

yeah i like it .. didnt cost you too much but u cee im trying to keep the space i have but also my my front little heavy.. but yeah great idea.. are u doing anything else to it .

well i got ridd of my boat and got something else now , traded it straight across. . just thought i get a better boat and stick with it.. so guys throw me some ideas..

yeah i know .. i dont know where to start 1st .. probably im gonna strip the old stuff of the boat or sand it down.. the repair the corner luckily my brother in law is a manager at a aluminum place so he can weld that corner little bit in and sand it . then give it a nice paint job. and the start the inside ..

That sounds like a good plan. I would look at the transom wood before you paint it.

why is that u got any ideasss.

You want to inspect the transom and make sure none of it is rotted and something that needs repaired.

i will probably do that before i do anything ur right .. and i probably have to reiforce it a little bit .. just play safe cause the boat is rated for 50 hp at least
