Ok, so i have a 10 foot jon boat that gets little use since its winter. I also have a 7.5 hp gamefisher in my shed that I would like to get running good before the summer so I can take it to our annual trip to lake gaston. I was just wondering, will the motor be too much power for the boat? The boat has a brand new wooden transom that is a 3/4 inch thick piece of plywood. the boat is rivited if that matters. I would hate to have to swim back to shore because my boat sunk because my motor is too much power. Comments would greatly be appreciated. 8)

 You will be OK. The gamefisher motor is made more for reliability NOT power. I had the same motor on a 10' bass hunter with no problems whatsoever. Good Luck!!!
