What would be lighter for the floor aluminum or plywood with several coats of wood sealer?

If I go the aluminum route what thickness should I try to get?
size of floor 5x7ft

Will be painting the inside with a tan durabak

Thanks for all the help planning this project

Not sure on what's lighter, but I'm pretty sure the plywood is MUCH cheaper.

I was just walking thru my local hardware store and saw they wanted $55 for a 3x4 sheet of aluminum. The 4x8 sheets of 1/2 plywood were $10 each. I think I can cut build 2 decks and when one rots, put the other in - and still come out ahead with those prices.

But then again, I'm an accountant. :)

Alum. is lighter and will last as long as your boat.Yes it cost more and is harder to work with (to me anyway) but you get what you pay for it is just what you want.Don't buy at hd or l ,look around and see if some shop can get it for you at cost it will save alot of cash.As that is what i did and you would be surprised when you tell them what you are doing how much me willing they are to help .No skin of there back it just adds to there order and helps there price.
