plastic gas tank question

Is it OK to run your boat with the tank sitting upright, as shown in this picture? I assumed it has to be laid down when in use, but if I can set it upright in back, this will change my plans.

No unfortunalty the pick up is set to siphon from the bottom of the tank directly below itself so you could run all of maybe twenty mins. After the fuel level would drop below the siphon range. Sorry......
 
The only way that would work is if you installed a clunk on the end of a flexible hose inside the tank. That way the pickup would always be at the bottom of the tank. Small 2 cycle engines like weed eaters have them.
