which length oars for 14' Polar Kraft?

I just bought an older 14' Polarkraft (model 1442) and want to have oars for the oarlocks, just in case. How do I decide which length of oars to buy? (I am thinking 6'6" or 7') Thanks

The old fellers always told me, 1 1/2 times the beam. Maybe they were right, maybe not. I hate oars.

The Shaw and Tenney web sitehas a formula

A = distance between the oar locks + 2"
Length in inches = (A/7) x 25

Holy Crap!

Looked @ S&T again - it should be (A=1/2 distance of beam + 2") (A/7)x25

I had 8.5' when I had my Lund 14WC

which length oars for 14' Polar Kraft?
