If your having a problem getting the bow down they are a great help. But with most aluminum rigs that is not the issue. What size boat are you wanting to put them on? What size motor? For a smaller boat I'm not sure that they would not help you at all.

I'm not sure you would gain anything by putting them on your boat with that small of a motor. If you did put them on they would probably drop your top speed substancially if you actually tried to use them and lower the bow.

They can help you get on plane faster, and it's not like you can't adjust them.. I don't see them reducing speed if you use them correctly.
