i bought a johnson 10 horse outboard for my 1432 the other day... since im in the process of making the boat look better (and im out of money for plywood right now lol) i figured id try to clean the paint up on the outboard. its an early 80's model and its white but has faded/yellowed slightly. the actual motor is spotless but id like the outside to shine! anyone had any experience bringing outboard paint back to life?

My motor is a 1993 Johnson and was just faded pretty bad. I used a good cleaner/polish and was amazed at the difference.

Mine wasn't faded. It was camo'ed.

I decided I wanted a retro look and bought decals on ebay.
I sanded, primed and painted with white spray paint.

I like it even though it is not the correct decals for 1974.
