Has anybody found a more user friendly way to make shade other than the typical bimini? After watching a lot of cool build, i do not seem to remember seeing any with cover as part of the design.

Hay Dad, They make an umbrella thing that fits on your seat post. I've thought about getting one myself. They (whoever they are) also make all kinds of shades for tractors that you may be able to mod or get an idea from. Or just a big ol' floppy hat.

I've used this...

I've also seen a guy use pvc that connected to the seat pedestal with some connectors to support a deck umbrella.

I have the same bracket for my seat on my 1032 Jon Boat.
I also caught a great deal on an umbrella at Costco, it is large and has a secondary umbrella, that will pass wind thru.
I also hope to finish installing this on my Jon boat.
