What is the proper way to use the vent screw on the gas cap. Do I leave it open to release pressure during storage and close it down when running the motor?
Also what in the heck is that bolt for at the top of my picture all about? Is it another vent spot?

The bolt looks like another hole for a fitting? As the vent goes you open it when running the motor & close for transporting.I open mine when boat is sitting to let presure out from the sun heating it up.

crazyman now I remember. yes yes open when running the motor. It's like sucking on a straw and putting your finger over the other end, the straw will colaps and no gas will flow. My truck's cap did this years ago, it would go fine then after 15 mins it would sputter out and die so I just changed out the vented gas cap and the problem was solved, gas started to flow to the motor again.
