What's a reasonable price to pay for scrap aluminum? The guy I talked to near me is charging a dollar a pound. Is this a good price?

Check with Blaze, they are usally in the middle price wise.....

Yes. Buying scrap aluminum from our local yard has been a dollar a pound for about the past 2 years, while the economy was toast, but recently, all metals have increased, and aluminum is 2 bucks a pound to buy. On the flip side, they are also paying much better for scrap right now.

Sounds like the local outfit is reasonable if I can find anything I can use in their yard. I'll give Blaze a call as well, since they're not far from where I live. (South of Jefferson just above Hwy 211/I85)

I paid $50 bucks and change for 41 #'s of aluminum window/door framing at a local recycling center in north Texas about 3 weeks ago.
