:?: how well would a grizzly 1860 jon with tiller steering ride on lakes like bull shoals ? it can get pretty rough. the boat has a 3 degree deadrise. anybody have any exp. good or bad with one of these boats? i am looking at a wareagle 860 which would be better in rough water, but not better on my wallet. any info. is appreciated. bobby w

Hey Bobby...that's a pretty big boat. I think you should do okay as long as you're not facing any big storms. I'm running a 1756 flat bottom and I do okay. I have more trouble with the idiots that want to ski too close to the shore while I'm fishing.

Oh yeah...welcome aboard. Stick around and you'll get a lot out of this family.

I would go with a Mod-V on big water. They are just so much more responsive to the tiller. Turning into the wind, wake, and avoiding hazards is the best safety tip. My Alumacraft 1470 MV will turn on a dime at full throddle. An 18ft jon is a big boat and I'm sure you'll do fine but I do like a Mod-V.
