Hi, wanted to introduce myself as I just joined and also finished adding some decks to my 1232. I suspect that this site will help me to convert my little dude into the river rat I want it to be...so I thank you in advance for said assistance.

So since I have you here, my first question is this...is there a 9.9hp motor that is NOT a stick steer? Or is there a way to convert a stick steer to a center console steering configuration.

Thing is, my back freakin hurts like hell when I have to twist around with a stick steer for too long, and I really need to face forward.

Thoughts on making this a reality? Thanks peeps...looking forward to being an active part of this group. Here is a pic of my current setup. I'll be putting a seat in the rear, and my buddy can sit on the cooler and fish from the front...I am sure there will be more mods to come!

Paul

Welcome aboard! Nice little rig you have there. I'm unable to provide an answer to your question, but the pros will jump in shortly. What you're referring to is a tiller steering, not stick steer.

It is correct that you are talking about tiller sterring and not stick steering. Tiller extension handles are available or easy to make...

^^^ I second. Try to make tiller steer work for you. A console in a rig that size will take too much space. Have you tried riding side saddle? That should take some strain off your back.
