Anyone ever use LED truck taillights for inside your boat lights? I want a lot of light and thought these may work. I was thinking two in the front and two in the rear conpartment should light my 14 ft. boat up. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Todd

I've seen on another forum some one with them.
I plan on getting a set of these when I finish my boat(in Green).

I couldn't find the thread I was thinking of but here's another one.

Just make sure they are waterproof.

Here's the link I was thinking of.

Make sure to mount them under a lip or something like that so the actual bulb doesn't blind your eyes. You want it to flood the floor with light. So you can still see. I learned that fishing at night I put blue leds on my boat to use when landing a fish on the deck and the lights blinded me when I tried to look at the surrounding area outside the boat so I moved them under a lip and it made the floor glow and was easier on the eyes adjusting back to the darkness outside the boat if that makes any sense. :?

I just started a thread with this very same question. (Should I mount the lights where the bulb is visible or not.) Good info! KRS

I got these for the inside of my boat in the silver color and man they are BRIGHT. I have a few that are silver and a couple that are red for night fishing so my eyes don't have to take so long to adjust. Really a great product.

I went to AutoZone and got two dome lights for a vehicle. They came with switches already in the bottom and only cost ($5.00 something each). I put one in front and one in back. I also got yellow bulbs for using in the summer for when the mosquitoes are on the rampage. They are plenty bright for my 17' Jet Boat.

I just used Dome lights out of Ford Rangers:

then if having LEDs is that important, just order some leds from superbrightleds.com
