I'm looking for a plastic livewell for my jon boat. I would like for it to be 30 gals or so. This will be mounted in the rear deck. It will have a lid that is the floor of the deck. Anyone have any sources? Thanks

As with virtually everything else in life - Wal-Mart. Go to the non-guy part of the store - Household Goods.

If you have one near you - The Container Store. Just the number of options will make you go crazy.

In my opinion I would go with a 70-100 quart insulated cooler. On the hot summer days the fish will love you.

But here is another option: https://www.cabelas.com/product/Boating/Livewells-Bilge-Pumps-Hatches/Hatches-Storage%7C/pc/104794380/c/104743980/sc/104378580/Tempress-Utility-Hatch-Liners/700042.uts?destination=/catalog/browse/boating-livewells-bilge-pumps-hatches-hatches-storage/_/N-1100642/Ns-CATEGORY_SEQ_104378580%3FWTz_l%3DSBC;BRprd737596;cat104743980&WTz_l=SBC;BRprd737596;cat104743980;cat104378580

and the matching lids....Just type Tempress in the search fields in Cabelas

Let us know what you decide.

Are the storage tubs from Walmart holding up OK???

The products linked to from Cabelas I know are top quality. My dads boat had their livewell and latch, and we used that boat for YEARS.

I'd like to save money, but I'm afraid that the plastic tubs won't last.

I second the insulated cooler. I got a 70 qt at wal mart that does great, and keeps the water cool in the summer. Got a bilge pump to put water in, recycle occasionally, and take the water out when I get home. Plus, the cooler is removable, so you can clean it, or use the boat for other uses, such as duck hunting etc.

See these on ebay, have know idea if there any good...pretty pricey.

x3 for the insulated cooler with bilge pump. Keeps your catch nice and cozy. And it's removable when you're not tourney fishing or keeping fish. Use your rear deck for more tackle storage.

Insulated cooler and bildge are the best bet. Here is the one I ran in my last boat (sold a few weeks ago) I also installed a aerator with a tower sprayer. At weigh in fish that I caught at 6:30 in the morning were still amped up thrashing in my bag.
