A friend of mine is really into fishing and boating. He gave me a 1981 Evinrude 4.5hp.
Here are the pics.

The pull cord goes on this side.

Here is the rebuilt pull cord. Just needs a handle for the rope. I'll get from the dealer.

I also made a stand out of some scrap wood I had. I made another stand for my Merc.

My friend also put a new impeller, plugs and oil in the leg. He went to start it after the service and the cord broke. He hasn't had time for this motor because he has so many, so he gave it to me. He lost the pull cord handle a while back as it's been sitting on a shelf since the service last October.
It was covered in dust, so I cleaned it off and it looks great. I'll get some video of it running when she's all finished.
Hope you like? Can't beat the price.

You did good there. That motor is the same as the later Johnson/Evinrude 4 Deluxe (pre '85 was 4.5, then when the ratings changed, the motor was changed to the 4 Deluxe). Either the best or second best motor in existence, all makes, models and sizes included, so far as I'm concerned (and I'm not alone in that assumption).
You've got a 4 horse (post '85, rating, so a current rated 4 horse) motor, with a F-N-R shifter, large diameter flywheel (makes it the smoothest idling motor I've ever had), and still under 50 pounds.

Not a bad find at all.
