What is the smallest tiller steer motor I could go with that will push a 1652 with threes guys and duck hunting equipment comfortably? I had a 35 on it but sold it, my console, and all the controls and now am looking for a new motor. I want to go with tiller steer to open up the floor more. I know the max HP is 35HP using the equation in the motor section I just wanted to know what your experience is with smaller.

Thanks!

I have the same size boat with a 30hp tiller.
Hardly ever go fishing with anyone else but once/twice a year the family goes camping across a lake.
Theres 4 of us(still light though,450lbs),all our camping gear, food etc.
The boat still planes with a 11 pitch prop, when by myself I use a 13 pitch.
I don't think I'd go much smaller,a 25hp might do it.
I'm looking for a 40hp,I know it's just 4-5 mph faster but what can I say.
Your right on with the 35hp being the max for a tiller,60hp console.
