I have a 14A sea Nymph with a slightly sloped bow and Im going to mount my new bow mounted trolling motor to it. how do you determine a "level" angle to mount the motor?? as level as possible?? how can i determine this on the trailer??

If I understand your question properly, the angle that the bracket is mounted at, within its adjustment range, doesn't matter at all.

You will move the TM's shaft angle to be 90 degrees relative to the boat when you get ready to use the TM.

On my Caro Skiff, the mounting bracket ( home-made out of a 2 x 6 ) angles forward a good 15 degrees, but then tilts back when the TM is under power. Doesn't affect anything at all.

Hope I understood your query correctly. regards, rich

No drilling, cutting, screwing, or Fabrication. Worth it to me!

jb...There are a number of bow mounted motors and arrangements. A model number or picture will help us help you.

That said, almost every TM that I've had has some adjustment to level things out. If the boat is parked in the driveway, AND.... it is level on the trailer, than just a bubble level will help.

You can shim the base up, if it is a cable controlled style. The Powerdrive (?) from Minn Kota has adjustments for level. The folding arm kind has adjustments, if I remember correctly. Only the cable style would have to be shimmned...I think. Rich
