Im going to be buying my first boat I found this one at a good price for the boat trailer and a trolling motor I just have a few questions thank you for stopping by.

It is made of steel so it is quite heavy will that increase how sturdy it is? I will only be launching from ramps so not being able to just push it in isnt a problem.

Does it look familiar to any of you?

I'm planning on putting a front deck on it would it be stable while on the deck or would I get a lot of side to side action?

It is flat on the bottom and comes to that v point so is that called a semi v? Are these good for ponds and resivoirs? Planning on taking it on the river too once I get a 10hp main motor for it. Also the trolling motor I am going to upgrade to a 55lb thrust adventually, it comes with a 25.

Any answers and additional comments would be appreciate, thanks everyone.

boat looks like it has potential...

heres my humble advice to ya:

take it out a few times and use it, BEFORE you start trying to make modifications etc.

you might find out that you dont really understand what all you NEED in your boat, until you are in and USING your boat..

i went out and bought seats, pedestals, etc.. just to find out that my boat is very tippy with the seats because it changes the center of gravity and makes it pretty tippy...

im pretty sure that Im not going to be installing the seats in my boat...

i also found out that it is difficult to steer when seated directly in the middle
because the shaft of my motor is offset to the left...

use the guys in this forum, ASK QUESTIONS...

many people have been EXTREMELY helpful to me....alot of people have already done this...

use their knowledge.....ITS FREE

good luck with the modifications....

check out my little 12 ft jon boat if you need some ideas....

hope that helps....

get out there and throw some lures at the fish!! The rest is up to the fish!!

wow that looks great man!! how much in materials do you think you invested in that?

thanks for the compliment...

now i just need to get my motor running...

i have about $200 in it so far...

i had to buy plywood and indoor outdoor carpetting...
i bought seats etc, but now im wishing i would have waited....

i only paid 500 for my boat, trailer, and motor...
so im trying to keep costs down..

this is just my starter boat...

i didnt use marine grade plywood...
i figured that by the time it rots out, hopefully i'll have another boat by then...

i had alot of fun researching and planning and creating decks for boat..

id really like to buy another one (someday) and re-do another..

i really learned alot...

im sure you will too...

enjoy....

any questions, feel free to ask...
