anchor rope size?

what size anchor rope should i get for a 18lb river anchor. 1/4in, 3/8in i have no idea

I use 3/8 rope on my 18# river anchor. Worked fine for 2 seasons and counting.

3/8 should do fine

1/4 might work fine as well - but, you might also loose and anchor if it get stuck and you have to use some "extra" force

I would choose the 3/8" inch rope. Being a little larger than 1/4" it will be a little easier to handle.
