Question on a boat

I don't exactly know where to start trying to answer your questions.

Where you fish ( big lakes, small ponds, bay etc. ) affects what might make sense for your situation.

Your size/age etc. and that of your father...his agility ( I'm 71 so I know age can affect agility).

Basically, bigger is better. Bigger in width is the factor that affects stability and "high floating" the most. All boats are rated for the load that they can safely carry. You can have a slightly shorter, but wider boat...and it may be better off for your expressed needs. Skinny boats have their place, but not for "high floating".

If you add to your data WHERE you are from, you might even find a local tinboater who would show you his boat,...and perhaps even give you and your dad a short ride.

If you were here in Houston, TX I'd be happy to do so. If you were near Milwaukee or Chicago, one of our members has a neat looking boat for sale in the "For Sale section" on this site.

regards, Rich
