I want to build pods for the left right and rear for my 14 flat bottom. I think it will add stability and allow for a larger Motor and won't sink the poor thing. I live right on lake Harding Alabama, had the boat out today and it ran great but being six foot two I feel I might need to do a few things to keep it safe. Has anybody done a mod like this. I'm going to draw up some plans for it tomorrow but if it have been done or if there is any key that has experience doing this I would love the imput. Email or pm me. Thanks

Lots of these are already built for use on kayaks. I have two in my shop that I built for a small canoe that was rigged as a kayak. They work fine.

Many of them, including mine, were designed to be deployed using rod holders to hold PVC shafts that held swim noodle floaters.. Rich

and here is mine....designed to be used with Scotty rod holders.

You cannot easily see it, but the rod holder has been drilled to accept a removable SS pin that holds the PVC shaft at the right angle and distance. You could drill a number of holes into the PVC and have more adjustment available if you want.

Im thinking more along the lines of a full rap around piece. My brother mentioned pvc pipe, like 8 inch and use a heat gun to make it bend, and pack it with foam or leave hollow for dry storage.

i think this can be done. but it would be nice if somebody have done it already.
