I'm still working on my jon project. I don't want to use carpet. My plan is to use 1/2" plywood for the floor and front and rear decks. My intent is to seal the bottom of the wood with some sort of sealer and use something similar to the "cabelas" Tuff stuff paint on top. Will this seal and protect the wood?

Use regular exterior plywood NOT treated wood.....Seal the wood with a few coats of spar urethane. Make sure to pay extra attention to the edges and anywhere you make a cut. I used the Minwax brand "Helmsman" spar urethane in a spray can.

Let it dry good for a day or so, then put your non-skid stuff on top of that.

After the spar, should I still use the primer, or apply the paint directly after scuffing up the urethane. I'm leaning towards using the "tuffcoat" paint available at Cabela's.
