Hello everyone,
I just inherited two boats from my best friend who passed away a month ago.
I want to fix/restore one .
The first is a old crestliner prob 14/15 foot
Really good shape needs striped and painted.
The second is a alumicraft 15/16 foot with a 25 hp
Evinrude with steering wheel. This one has
Some issues .. The floor has a bunch of pin holes ..
I suspect a leaking battery . And a three inch
Hole right next to the top on the side. Hay fork backed into it ,,
I was thinking convert the motor to tiller steer.
And put it on the crestliner.. Either way o wanna start from the ground up..
And build a boat he would of been proud of.
Thanks in advance

Not yet, only got the crestliner home. The alumcraft
Has some weird size coupler on the trailer??
Smaller than 1 7/8

GIVEN THE CHOICE GO BIGGER, YOU WONT BE SORRY, BUT IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH YOU WANNA PUT IT THE TO MAKE THEM SEA WORTHY, GOOD LUCK

I'm sorry to hear about your friend.

Knowing the actual dimensions of the boats would help. I would take a boat that's a foot shorter if it happened to be wider at the bottom.

Just from what you say it sound like the shorter boat is in much better shape. I can't weld so a boat that's maybe a foot longer but with bunch of holes would certainly not be my choice.

Good luck with whatever you decide.
:D
