I noticed most everyone uses treated plywood, 2x2's.
I used cedar wood which I treated with a water sealant. I figure that would be lighter and hold up well. Anyone use cedar and have any issues with it? Hope I did not make a mistake.

Hey, as far as I know, it should work fine. I've actually thought about it a lot before, why people don't use cedar or even teak, I guess it has to do with price and availability. As long as it is NOT treated it should be fine. The chemicals in the treated wood react with aluminum and cause corrosion.

I used cedar for the bunks and bow stop on the trailer.
Don't use treated wood on aluminum boats.

Boat was carpeted before wood went in. Plus wood is wrapped with carpet. So no treated wood is touching aluminum. 1-2 layers of carpet between wood and aluminum.

The chemicals will leach through the carpet when wet.
