When coating plywood with spar urethane, do you coat every single side or do you leave the bottom un coated?

Also, how many coats should I put on?

I placed it on both and mainly it took about 2 coats. Some took 3 coats it just depended on how well it absorbed the spar urethane. You kinda want a glossy finished look to it then you know its coated well.

Paint both sides and all of the edges.

I believe the directions say to use 3 coats for surfaces exposed to moisture and/or the elements. Be sure to let each coat dry completely before applying the next coat.
