Some where on tin boats I saw a motor mount made from a center roller bracket of a trailer. I have an old bracket and tried to make it but cann't remember which side was up. It was the best I have seen and would work well for me . thanks for any help you can give me.

Here's another option for front deck mount of transom mount trolling motor. While I like the welded brackets shown, many of us don't have ready access to that skill. Relatively inexpensive to build using a galvanized trailer roller bracket, less than 12" of 2x6, piece of steel shaft with end caps and finally I used a mounting plate made of 1" Starboard. You could use 2x6 for this plate if you wanted to keep it less expensive. Stain/seal/paint the wood used to desired color.
