Non-Slip Stained and Sealed Deck

I am working on my Jon Boat deck and I have been thinking about using cabinet grade plywood or even something like flatbotm's deck here https://www.tinboats.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=20341 but I want it to be stained wood color, not painted or opaque stain. I also don't want to have to put grip tape down. Is there a product that I can use that has sand,silica, or something like that in it that will have a sand paper like finish that will still allow me to have a wood grain finish? I may still go the carpet route since I've been heading down that road on my project, but it seems like it would be really classy to have a wood deck.

I'm really glad I found this site, but it's sure costing me a lot of time and money. I can't get any work done at work. I keep getting on and looking for new ideas. It's a rush!

You don't want cabinet grade plywood, it has an interior grade glue and will come apart over time.

You wan't an AC exterior grade plywood like this.

You can add play sand to the Spar urethane and make it non slip, you just have to experiment with how much sand you want in it.

I'll check out the plywood to see if it comes in a finish grade or if it's just rough. I figure if the wood's going to show through, I want it to look nice.

Sand was my first thought, I just wasn't sure if that would work or of there was something else I was missing.

AC is the designation for the finish of the 2 faces of the plywood.

A is a fine sanded finish with no patches or knots, this will be the side you want to turn up.

C is a medium sanding with some patches and knots, this will be the bottom side of your deck.

The plywood in the link is actually ACX, X stands for exterior glue that is moisture resistant.

Whereever you go to buy your plywood, tell them you want ACX grade.

Lowes does carry that silica for making any paint a non skid surface. I used it on a fiberglass boat before.

I used Overtons Tuff Coat and 2 part epoxy sealer under - it is awesome!

I found this question very helpful it sent me looking at different options of plywood instead of just diving in and spending $86.00 a sheet on Marine grade plywood. I spotted a cabinet grade plywood at Home Depot. jigngrub's information sent me researching the product. I found that this inexpensive plywood is rated for interior and exterior use, so I've decided to try it and spar urethane coat it for my next floor. Here's what I found.

Even with the research realistically I still wonder how it will hold up but for now it meets mt price point.

The rating for the glue mentions this AraucoPly is glued with a WBP phenolic adhesive.

I'm also replacing my decking thanks for the help, also is spar varnish a good product to use for sealing the plywood?
