Finished paint job... Clear coat?

So I just finished my paint job on my 14' alum duck boat. The paint can come off a little if I scratch it with my finger nail is thAt normal? I used parkers coating and rustolium spray paint. Would a clear coat help the paint from chipping? If so, what kind would work? Any spray cans?

Sounds like you didn't do the proper prep work.

How long has it been painted?

Im getting ready to paint mine with Krylon Ultra Flat spray bombs and it says on the cans that it takes 7 days to completely cure and become scratch and chip resistent. Last year I used the same paint to paint a security box I made for my trail cam and you cant beat that paint off with a hammer!!

You said its a duck boat. Clear coat is a gloss finish. Thats the exact opposite finish you want on a duck boat.
