Hi All this is my first boat project. What i have to work with is a 1968 Gibson 1432 jon boat, i have a 3 hp sea king outboard, a 24 pound thrust johnson foot control trolling motor, minn kota 35 transom mount trolling motor, a eagle graph fish finder, clamp on swivel seat bases and fold down seats, bow and stern light and the boat trailer.

Im not going to deck it but would like to do a floor in it and maybe a live well and some storage.

Im concerned about weight and stability, im 240 pounds.

I live by lake allatoona in georgia.

Im open to any and all ideas on the build, between the back bench and middle bench is 71 inches, from middle to front platform is 47 inches, not going under it, the beam is 45.5 inches and the sides are 14 inches high. the boat is exactly 14 feet long. My trailer is 18 feet long. It had a piece of plywood on the back bench i removed it tonight.

Also would like to hear from others with a similar boat on how it sits in the water stuff.

Thanks everyone and looking forward to doing some fall fishing

Thats a darn nice looking trailer!!

As for the boat, keep the center of gravity low. I'm working on a 1436 and I am a bit bigger guy than you at around 260. I'm going with floors directly on the ribs and the seats will be mounted directly to the benches. Actually, the front seat will be ona post but it will only be as high as the bench that was there. It will have a front and rear deck but those are only for storage and to have a place to mount TM and electronics. That being said, I have seen fully decked 1032's on this site. Not for me though!!

BTW, welcome to TinBoats. You'll love it here. Keep the pics coming too!!
