BC's Wooden Boat Build

Well, after two years of thinking about building a boat I have finally pulled the trigger and ordered wooden boat plans! It's going to be a long build process, as free time is difficult to come by. Currently my garage is full of old kitchen cabinets (we just finished a renovation) so nothing is going to happen until they are moved out. Hopefully I can get all the molds and hull panels cut before the cold weather sets in. The build won't start in earnest until next spring. That will give me all winter to study the plans and build the boat in my head over and over again! I think I will also put together some sort of loose production schedule. I think the way to approach this is like eating an elephant - one bite at a time.

The boat is a 17 foot skiff.







The boat can be configured many different ways.

That's gonna be a cool build! Be sure and document it with plenty of pics for us. 8)

Check out www.microskiff.com several guys over there have built their own. That site and tinboats are two of my favorites.

I too have wanted to build my own boat from wood, however its way down the priority list.
