Quick casting platform question

Hey crew, just starting my brainstorming for my spring projects. Is there any way to make a casting platform that rests on each gunnel? I want it a bit higher to make peering into the water easier. I'm not worried about stability as my boat has a small triangle on the bow that is the height of the gunnel. I've stood on that and have casted before with no stability problems. I would like to make that area larger to make it easier on myself. Has anyone done this? Are there any links to this project?

Depending on how fancy you want to get, lay a piece of plywood over your area, trace the gunwale and cut it out.

Carpet it and screw it down.

Done.
