i have a 12' aluminum boat i am completly fixing up to sell. it is rivited and has a leaky bottom. not bad but a good amount gets in. i have heard about steel flex is that stuff good? does anyone no about it? also i found something called dura fix. its pretty much aluminum brazing. cananyone tell me about that? thanks everyone! :D

That all depends on where it's leaking. Is it a rivet or a crack? if it's a rivet, try rebucking it. Easier to do with two people. If it's a crack, you could braze it or better yet, weld it.

There is a TON of info on this board about using sealers like Gluv-it, SteelFlex, 3M 5200 etc. They all work well in certain situations. However, there is nothing better than actually FIXING the metal ..... weld it!!

Look around your area for a fabrication shop, off-road shop, hot-rod shop, even basic body shops .... anyplace that welds on a regular basis. Call them up and explain you need a few short aluminum welds. Most likely you can get all your leaks welded for less than $100 .... which is about how much you would pay for some good sealant anyway.

Oh, if its just leaky rivits .... rebuck them and be on your way.
