Has anyone ever lengthened a trolling motor shaft? My motor is cable driven. I would like to cut the shaft, lenthen the wires and have a 16" pipe welded into the gap. Does anyone think this would work? I know it's common for people to shorten their shafts, but I haven't really heard much about making them longer. Thanks for any help!
