Has anyone used jasco to waterproof the 3/4" inch plywood on their transom? I am replacing the transom on my 14ft sears 1963.

I've never heard of it either, but as long as it is not pressure treated, or uses any metal based preservatives, you should be ok. Most folks here prefer high quality, non-PT, exterior grade plywood sealed with either polyester resin and fiberglass mat, 2-part epoxy, or the Spar Urethane mentioned. All hardware should be either aluminum rivets and/or stainless steel hardware dipped in 5200 marine caulk. That's really about it. The rest is up to you.

Most of the Jasco products I have used are for stripping paint, I have not heard that they have any waterproofing products. If you planning on something like Thompson's water seal there is some information in the thread titled - "Does Thompson's Water Seal contain chem. harmful to Alum. ??"

I used spar Urethane myself for my transom - Chris
