Somewhat of a new guy here.(Was on a few years ago and drifted away, just re-signed today) Anyway, I've got a 1972? 1648 Monark jon that I use on small rivers and lakes. The transom wood is shot and then some. The only way I see to replace it is to cut the welds on the corner braces and then reweld. I was just wondering if anyone has done this, and if there is an easier way. Thanks for any help.

A lot of people on here have cut and rewelded corner brace to replace their transoms. I am sure someone will post there project for you. It would help if you posted pictures of what you have to do and welcome
