Has anyone else had an issue with mounting their foot controlled trolling motors on their projects? I have a motorguide pro series that i am trying to figure out how to mount. I should re-state that, i know how to mount it, but i will have to raise the entire trolling motor up a couple of inches to clear the front lip of the boat. Has anyone else built or modified something that works well for the clearance issues? I have a few thoughts but i figured someone on here has built something and had success using it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I used a carpeted 2x6 to lift mine up. I also stuck it out far enough off of the bow so it won't bang on the way up. The TM is also far enough out to the side so that the water runs out of the prop into the water and not into the boat.
