Thinking about cutting access into the pod thing on the back of my boat for battery storage. The current opening in the back is just enough room for a 6 gallon gas tank, so there's no spot for a battery.

I remember seeing it in several builds, but I don't know what it's called or where to get it-just a rubber trim to go around the cut edges so I don't scrape my arm up reaching in. Anyone have a link?

Forgive my lack of artistic skills, I whipped this up in Photobucket in 20 seconds. You get the idea.

I am not sure what the guys here use. But if it were me, I would check your automotive stores. Autozone, Oriellys, Napa and the like. Look at their door edge trim. I know they have a chrome type may have a black or white not sure. It just slips over the edge and has a glue strip that helps it stick.

I bought mine at McMaster-Carr. It's called Self-Gripping Vinyl Edge Trim with Metal Core (aluminum) and is exactly the same as what was originally installed on the boat, specifically P/N: 8451A63.
