I think you will find quite a few fans of a product called Steelflex on this site. I used it on my tin and no more leaks (and it looks a million times better). Ok. I know about steelflex. But I was wondering for something to prevent leaks. But it doesent look like there anything.
 
I wouldn't do anything to a brand new hull. If properly cared for, it should be leak free for decades.

And if/when you do need to replace a rivet or fix something on the hull, it will be a lot easier if there aren't layers of some sort of paint/treatment/sealant to deal with.

If you will be running shallow rivers, then its a whole different ball game.
