I got a lil crawdad this week and took it out this morning. First off I love the boat. Its plenty lightweight to handle and my lil minkota 30 pushes it along a lot better than I thought it would.
Gonna have to add some seats though.

One thing that I don't like about it. The open floor. If your standing in the floor between the tubing the plastic gives way like walking in the water. I want to add some wood in front of each seat. I dont want to add a lot of weight but I want it to be plenty stong. What type wood and how thick would you guys go? Might eventually redo the front seat tubing and brace it up and go with a pedestal seat. This will be this winter though. Just gotta do something for now. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Chris

You could use a 3/8, or 3ply and use 1x2's as stringers. Avoid OSB, or MDF ply boards as they will swell if wet. Also treated will corrode your aluminum bracing.
