Will acetone remove the wax from a painted finish on a boat? Is there anything someone could recommend for this. Thanks Ivan

mothers clay bar. get the kit at walmart or autozone, it'll strip everything wax, bugs, crud, you will have to rewax whatever you strip though or it will look dingy.

I have used Dawn dish detergent soap for years to remove grease and waxy residue from anything marine/automotive I want "squeaky" clean. It's also good at cleaning up drips from oil changes as well. As an old hot rodding tip, I've also made my own wipe down cleaner using 50/50 acetone and denatured alcohol.

Dont use acetone, the harder you rub the more paint will come off as well, You can buy wax remover at any paint store, Generally dawn dish soap, a few times over will work fine.
