It will work better if you roughen up the surface where the 5200 will be applied.

It will "seal" plastic. I wouldn't neccecarily want to glue a plastic boat together with it. I had great results using it as a "gasket" behind a piece of "cutting board" plastic I bolted and adheared to my transom. Excess globs can be pulled off the plastic after it dries.
