Bow Eye ripped off

That would be a cast aluminum bow eye it looks like, especially the way it broke. I'd switch to a stainless steel one.

I'd replace it with something like this one:

It's the same have on my Tracker Pro Deep V 17.
 
Thanks Guys, I ended up buying the stainless U-Bolt. It is 3/8 dia. which I believe should be strong enough.

I am going to add fender washers to the inside to build up some thickness to keep the bolt from pulling thru.

I will post the results. I'm hoping to complete this repair tomorrow.
 
You really need more than fender washers on the inside of the hull, you need a backer plate of aluminum or even wood.

Rip down a 2x4 about 6" long so it'll nestle down into the V, then use the fender washers on the back of that.

jigngrub, I used ten washers on each stud plus the u-bolt plate. It seems to hold pretty well. I winched my boat up to the stop from about a foot away. I still need to fix the old rivet holes so I could still add a backer.
