Hey Guys,

I have a 1648 semi-v flat with a 70 hp johnson. I just put the 70 on there and it needs a jackplate. What type would be the best for my setupet ? It will not get up on plane because of back pressure, so I was told.

First off, you sure that 1648 is rated for a 70 HP?

You may be having other issues, I would imaging a 70 would put a 1648 on plane no matter how much was hanging in the water. For jackplates, your going to need something big to hold the weight of that beast, check out CMC plates. Not sure if Bob's Machine Shop makes one that big, but worth a look. Good luck.

I'm not really sure what it is rated for. I had a 40 on it and traded for this 70. If I get someone in the front and trim it up a little bit, it hopps out the water and flys, but then starts to porpose really bad.

Bob's machine shop has a larger range of Jack plates than any other jack plate company.

We also provide lifetime warranty on the structure of all our jack plates.

Please give me a call if you have any questions for rigging your boat and we'll get you taken care of.

Do you want a manual or hydraulic motor? I just got a hydraulic, but I haven't mounted it yet...

Here are a few to check out besides Bob's above (which are probably the best on the market)
