Nay of you gents know of a good supply company for aluminum bolts / cap screws. I need 5/16 diameter standard thread (prefer cap screws) 1.5" and 1.75"

any help would be appreciated.

Have you thought about using stainless steel hardware? It might be more expensive but easier to find.

Stainless is the way to go and is OEM for all new aluminum boats.

You don't see many aluminum bolts or screws because aluminum is too weak for this application. You'll end up wringing heads off and twisting bolts in half instead of getting them tight enough.

I'll look into stainless. Does stainless and aluminum react together like steel and aluminum? Will paint stick to stainless? Lot's of questions from the newbie but I want to do it right!

Stainless and aluminum get a long just fine. As for paint I'm not sure.

Stainless steel items are hard to control, yet the extruded aluminum seems to get easily handled,
which are in high resistance and softness.
Also it get quickly painted as well as redo.
I have one replaced with the aluminum bolts and screws.
