I was cleaning the boat today with Spray Nine, and on the outside of the hull, noticed that the paint was coming off as i scrubbed. Not down to bare metal, but it definately thinned the paint. This is not a big deal, since I plan on painting the boat this winter, but a heads up so nobody runs into this problem. The paint was in descent condition, not chalky or peeling. The paint on the inside of the boat is fine.

Spray Nine is strong stuff that contains bleach. You can damage a perfectly god paint job if you spray it straight out of the bottle without thinning it down or letting it set for very long.

Dawn Power Dissolver is made for removing baked on crud from pots and pans but is also one of the best paint strippers on the market.

Be careful when cleaning your boat with products you are not completely familiar with.
