help a newbie

hi everyone my name is matt in a nubie im looking to buy a 10 -12 ft jon boat to go fishing by my self most of the time how stable are they? and how easy is a 10-12 to put on top of a car? my "friends" are trying to get me to by a canoe or a kayak instead im a bigger fell 6"3 300 lbs any input is greatly appicated

! would go with a 12 even if fishing by yourself, If you take into account all your gear, trolling motor (I assume) and battery. You will be all set for fishing...while you sit.

You will get tired of going out on the boat after awhile because it will be a pain to unload and reload all this stuff each time you want to go fishing.

You can find a cheap trailer for like $300. You will enjoy it so much more.

Your a big guy, a canoe and kayak will cramp you up quicker than running a marathon, trust me I've been there.
