I'm in the process of installing a rod box and the foam looked dry and new until I started cutting along the edge with an electric knife and the bottom 5 inches was waterlogged.

On the plus side the blades didn't get hot.

I need to put more weight in the back because without a motor on it, when it rains the water runs to the front and then it's trapped there. Last month or so I filled a 6 gallon fuel can with water for weight and it helped a little but still needs more weight like a motor.

This only happens when the boat is left exposed to the elements for extended periods of time.

Since spring it's been tied to the dock until I took it out of the water 2 days ago. Thats why I bought an all aluminum and don't plan on putting any wood in it.

When I get the water running all to the back where the bilge pump is I hope it will dry out.
