JB WELD RIVETS ON HULL BEFORE I PRIMER?

I am about to do some serious paint on my lil jon boat and before I do I plan on sealing the rivets under my boat real good I am considering using jb weld letting it dry then sanding it flat. then applying a coat of self etching primer. Any objections or recomendations that would be a less expensive way of doing this?

I don't think JB Weld will expand/contract or flex with the aluminum. I'd look for a different method of sealing any leaks.

I wouldn't JB either. If it doesn't leak that much...
Some people re-swage the rivets. Some get welded. A couple people claim good
success by replacing bad ones with stainless flat head screws, nuts.
JB has it's uses but it's not that strong. Boat will work and the JB will give out.
I'm told it also has steel powder in it so you'll never be able to weld them or probably
re-swage them either.
In my canoe I usually have a big sponge. Unless it leaks like the Titanic that's good enough for the canoe.
