Hey guys I'm looking to repaint my boat and motor. My question is should I take all the old paint off and apply self etching primer or apply the primer over the old paint? Also it's an Xpress 1756 flat bottom, how much paint do you think it will take?
Ps I'm looking into all spray paint if possible
 
Xpress, My answer to your question is YES, preparation is everything. I would strongly suggest removing the paint with a good paint stripper/stripping wheel/electric sander. Otherwise, the etch primer would have nothing to etch into. plus it makes for a nice clean finish at the end. As to how much paint to use... im not sure. im only getting to that point on my boat. Goodluck!
